This report summarizes the second annual SANS survey of IT professionals using a variety of cloud providers and service models, including SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS implementations.
What has changed this year? Has the state of cloud security improved? Stayed the same? Worsened? Some of the top takeaways from this year’s survey include:
• 70% of respondents work in organizations that are more than happy to use public cloud computing services
• 62% of respondents are concerned about unauthorized access to data by outsiders
• 10% of respondents reported a breach or other serious incident involving a cloud implementation
• 56% of respondents cited lack of access and visibility into low-level evidence as key challenges to incident response and forensic analysis in the cloud
These and other interesting highlights are covered in the 2016 SANS Survey on Security and Accountability in the Cloud Data Center.
